"Robert remembers an incident in a hotel room when his father threw a milkshake and it stuck to the ceiling. As the young man recalled it, the globules of ice cream slowly dried to form what looked like a brown nipple above his head. The fury with which the milkshake had been hurled, almost as if it was some kind of weapon, stuck with him. He later admitted he used the image to tap into feelings of anger and sadness when acting.”
